When we go to The Ex, three things come to mind. Fast rides, fun games, and filling up. The latter of the three applies to the food! You simply can’t go to The Ex without grabbing some good eats, and there is an endless array of options to tickle your taste buds at this year’s EX. From bacon wrapped bacon burgers, to deep fried desserts, to red velvet pancakes, this year’s CNE has been getting a lot of attention for its edible offerings.
We’ve tried just about all the greasy goodness that two bloggers could possibly set out to eat at this year’s CNE, and we don’t show any signs of stopping until the closing night on September 3rd. However, to have a good time at The Ex doesn’t mean you have to lose that swimsuit-ready body you’ve worked all summer for. You have delicious options in the Food Building, with heart-healthy choices from vendors serving up pitas, falafels, crisp salads and a lot more. Our favourite was Vie, which uses all organic products when preparing food.
After you grab a bite to eat, choose a seat indoors or out at the community style seating. The long, picnic style tables allow for guests to eat together, strike up a conversation about their fun on the fairground and share some great CNE memories. We recommend some delicious poutine or the pulled pork for those of you who haven’t tried them yet. Just make sure to grab some napkins!
